Yves Saint Laurent announced last night that British Actress Emily Blunt is the new face of its Opium eau de parfum fragrance.
Miranda Priestly would be so proud. Both her assistants have landed top jobs in modelling: Anne Hathaway is starring in a campaign for Tod’s (read more here), while last night Emily Blunt, who first caught people’s attention as the catty first assistant to Miranda Priestly in the Devil Wears Prada, has landed the deal to be not just the face, but the ambassador for YSL Opium Eau de Parfum.
The heady scent was first launched back in 1977 and created by perfumer Jean-Louis Sieuzac.

The lovebirds may have faced some controversy when first they announced their engagement, but the subsequent marriage of Lachey’s ex (Jessica Simpson) helped to smooth over public opinion and pave the way for the couple’s future nuptials, which occurred just a few days ago. The wedding took place on Neckar Island (owned by Sir Richard Branson) in the Caribbean, on a cliff overlooking the cerulean waters.
