We told you back in October that Louis Vuitton was going to launch its first fragrance in almost 100 years. This week it has been confirmed that the brand has signed up Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud who worked with Stella McCartney to create both STELLA and new scent L.I.L.Y.
Third-generation perfumer Cavallier-Belletrud, who cut his teeth in the fragrance mecca Grasse, started work at Louis Vuitton this Tuesday. And it doesn’t look like he’ll be approaching this scent with a commercial hat on, revealing that ‘making perfume is a magnificent journey, which starts with the quality of the base ingredients’.
The brand has not revealed when the fragrance will launch, explaining that its nose will likely travel the world in search of precious essences.
